Class Crew
Time Commitment: 1+ hours per week for one semester
Requirements: pass a background check, an initial assessment, and attend training
Side-Walker
Engage the rider in the activities, keep them balanced, and cue them to steer the horse.
Leader
Lead the horse, provide steering aid, and follow the instructor’s lesson plan.
Driving Header
Stand as horse leader during mounting, dismounting, and class activities.
Driver Assistant
Assist the driver as they mount and dismount the cart, and engage in class activities.
Community Crew
Time Commitment: varies by project and need
Requirements: pass a background check and an initial assessment
Events
Run a station, take pictures, or help with set-up and tear-down on event days.
Newsletters
Help us package and label our quarterly printed newsletters.
Booster Club
Promote our events and fundraisers in your local community.
Planning Committee
Work with our staff to plan events and fundraisers.
Corral Crew
Time Commitment: varies by project and need
Requirements: pass a background check and an initial assessment
Feeding & Mucking
Come to the barn in the morning to help feed the herd and muck the stalls.
Conditioning
Keep the herd in top shape with regular ground and riding exercises.
Health & Maintenance
Assist our herd manager with ferrier, dentist, or vet visits.
Horse Handler
Use your horsemanship skills in advanced classes, travel, and events.
Caretaker Crew
Time Commitment: varies by project and need
Requirements: pass a a background check, an initial assessment, and attend training
Landscaping
Mowing, maintaining the Extreme Course, and weed control.
Construction
Building projects, welding, tractor work, roofing, and carpentry.
Maintenance
Painting, equipment upkeep, repairs, fencing, and rodent control.
Hay Hauling
Gathering and stacking bales twice a summer after a field cutting.
